Sign Builders was recently involved with a very interesting project at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Ford Island. We assisted Creo Industrial Arts, a mainland fabrication and sign shop located in Woodinville, Washington with setting up an educational experience for young aspiring pilots including aerodynamic testing chambers, flight simulators, and a full size Cessna plane! Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of pre-flight checks, navigation & communication, and take-off & landing.

Creo found themselves in a bit of a jam in their scheduling as the project neared completion, and decided to reach out to Sign Builders for additional skilled labor on-island. Sign Builders’ fabricators and installers assisted with moving, assembling and installing furniture, cabinetry, and flight simulators including a mock control tower for communication and navigation exercises.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sign Builders’ vinyl wrapping specialists had the special opportunity to work on a full size Cessna plane (indoors!), installing a clean partial wrap; conforming the digitally printed and laminated vinyl to the aerodynamic curves of the Cessna. Ultimately the job was completed without major issue, and well in advance of any of the scheduled learning. Rick Hardin from the Aviation Museum had this to say: “The museum of flight is proud of it’s new Aviation learning center, and it could’nt have been accomplished without help from the team of guys at Sign Builders, a group of talented and hardworking guys who showed up in a pinch to help finish the project.
